We are proud to announce that Egis has officially joined the European Fusion Association (EFA), reinforcing our commitment to the development of fusion energy in Europe and worldwide.
EFA is an international, Brussels-based non-profit association established in 2024, to address one of the biggest challenges for the coming decades: enhancing strategic autonomy for clean energy with fusion energy being key to this ambition. EFA’s mission is to build a strong, world-class European fusion ecosystem that ensures a sustainable long-term supply chain for fusion energy.
Fusion power is advancing rapidly globally with several public and private organisations pursuing commercial fusion. Europe is leading the way positioning fusion as a cornerstone of the 2050 climate-neutral energy mix.
Over the past two decades, Egis has made significant contributions to major European fusion and nuclear R&D programs:
- Jules Horowitz Reactor (RJH) – Under construction at the CEA’s Cadarache site, RJH will be one of the most advanced material testing reactors for nuclear fuels and components. Egis is mobilised throughout the overall project lifecycle providing multidisciplinary engineering services.
- ITER (International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor). Egis is delivering infrastructure engineering design and project management services including the Tokamak complex and its supporting systems.
- Laser Mégajoule (LMJ) is one of the most advanced inertial confinement fusion facilities in the world. Egis contributed to the design and construction of critical facilities and systems.
By joining the European Fusion Association, Egis is deepening its collaboration with key industry, research, and institutional players to support Europe’s ambition for clean, safe, and limitless fusion energy.
